In memory of
Vinson Jefferson Yeatman
V.J. Yeatman age 75 of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in a local hospital with his family by his side.  V.J. was born December 9, 1944 in Starkville, MS. He was a man of many words and never met a stranger. He made many friends in his lifetime form working at Davis Lumber Company, being on the Miller County Quorum Court 86-88 and by being a self-employed carpenter. He was well known for his remodeling jobs but he put his heart into anything he did. He wasn’t one to let the grass grow under his feet. He loved to jump in his truck and go, whether it was an out of town trip or to his hunting spot. He was a longtime member of the Chidester Hunting Club. He loved hunting, fishing and could grow a plentiful garden of vegetables for many to enjoy. His family was his greatest love, just sitting and talking or sharing his hunting and fishing skills with Caydn and Daltyn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne; one son, Eddie; two brothers, Michael and Jimmy; three sisters, Deborah, Susie and Dorothy. He leaves his legacy to his daughters, Donna (Robert) Hanson and Shannon (Tom) Parsons; grandkids, Whitney (Clay) Humphrey, Alyssa (Allen) Parsons, Katlin (Kevin) Lyon and Jordan; great-grandkids, Caydn, Daltyn, AJ, Theo, Emory and Myles; his brother, Donald (Mary) Yeatman; his sister, Tricia Sterling; sisters-in-law, Anita (Barry), Debbie, Gail (Mike) and Carol; and a number of other relatives and friends. V.J. had the biggest heart and always went out of his way to help others. His loved, kindness and friendship will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Memorial Gardens, Texarkana, Arkansas under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

Why Plant Trees?

This memorial tree planting will assist in reforestation, improve forest health and area watersheds, and provide a critical habitat for threatened and endangered wildlife.
